Tuition is based on the number of sessions of a course you attend throughout the week. Some courses are offered multiple times with the same or different instructors. If you sign up for 3 or less sessions, cost is $60 each; 4 –5 sessions, $50 each; more than 5 sessions, $40 each—OR— $40/$30/$20 for auditing stock classes, classroom and shorter classes. Sessions are rated per handler/dog team. A handler with multiple dogs wanting to work both in the same course must register each separately.

Introduction to the ABC’s of round pen herding from the initial herding evaluation and starting your dog on stock. No prerequisite. |

Herding 102 - Gate & Pen Safety

Gate and Pen Safety—Students will learn basics of getting stock in and out of pens and gates in a safe manner for stock, dogs & handlers |

Production 101 - Stock Primer

“So you want your own stock” —What breeds work best for herding, how much space and what kind of fencing/housing do you need? |

Production 104 - How to build Stock Fence/Pens

A hands-on practicum on how to construct and maintain fencing appropriate for a variety of stock. Instruction will include what tools to use, what types are fencing are appropriate for what uses. Electric & Post/wire will be covered. |

Production 105—Hands On Basic Sheep Handling

Dogs and handlers will be working their dogs on honoring the border and working the graze. (pre-requisite: Intro to borders) |

Herding 303 - Stock Handling/The Art of the Perfect Set-out

One of the most important components of a trial run is the initial set out of the stock. This class will deal with how to get the stock from the pen to the set out point in a calm, quiet manner and the role of the stock handler plays to insure a safe run for the stock, dog and handler |

| The Great Cattle, Sheep & Duck Drive - Regional Field Trip |
| On Wednesday, symposium students will be invited to participate in an all-day educational excursion visiting stock operations within a 50-mile radius of Rancho Terra Norte'. Field Trip attendees will be invited to participate in a variety of stock related activities at each stop. |
